2. The First Sight
As usual Aadi was so keen in his maths class. He loved the subject and he loved his teacher. A lean brown 13 year old boy. Circles, it was about circles his teacher was teaching. The class was quiet, not that quiet one could hear whispers and tiny giggles if you listen carefully, obviously it is an early teen class.
Aadi was carefully drawing circles with his compass, he heard a voice and he knew it was the peon of his school he never even looked up, he was so immersed in what he was doing. "It seems you will have a new classmate" announced his teacher to the class. There was a sudden buzz of excitement in the class.
Aadi looked up, and saw someone move through the window which open towards the verandah. He saw her, a beautiful lean tall girl in her blue and white frock. Time froze for Aadi, nothing moved, total silence. All he can see was her beautiful face with fringe of hair on to her forehead. She came in and sat behind his bench. "Your good name?" asked the teacher. "Poornima" she replied in the most sweetest tone that he had ever heard. She said something else too, but he heard nothing. His teacher started teaching again, writing and drawing in the green board with white chalk. Aadi saw nothing, Aadi heard nothing all his mind had was the sight of that hair fringe on her forehead. He heard his heart pounding and he felt as if there is a whirlpool in his stomach.
His world changed dramatically that day. New color, new fragrance, new
light. He felt sunshine.
"Poornima" he thought, the full moon. What else could Aadi, the sun desire.
